FYI: We will need to be using the Web-based version of SureCode (which uses Adobe Flex) by sometime in early 2012, since the PC version will be de-supported by mid-2012. Thanks, Jane
Sunset for PC-based SureCode and TreQadmin (July 4, 2011, from Wayne Holt)

The PC-based versions of SureCode and TreQ will not be included in the upcoming PSI release of
DegreeWorks, currently slated for early December this year. The ActionLine will no longer
actively support either of these PC applications as of June 30th, 2012. These PC-based components
are not capable of being internationalized, are not capable of being 508 compliant, and are obsolete
from a technology perspective. They run only in a Windows environment, and must be
installed on each administrative user's computer.
The web-based replacement for SureCode was introduced with the SIGMA Release (DW4.0.4) in
September, 2009. A decision was made at that time to give the customer base a couple of
years to begin moving to the new version because it involved adopting a new technology stack,
including the use of an Application Server such as Apache Tomcat or Oracle Application Server
(WebLogic). The web-based replacement for the TreQ administrative interface, now formally
called TreQadmin, was introduced with the DELTA Release (DW4.0.7) in August 2010, and a
new version of SHPentry (previously a terminal-based application) was introduced in THETA
(DW4.0.8) in December 2010. Now, three of the five administrative DegreeWorks User
Interface components have been delivered to the customer base in a web format.
The upcoming PSI Release will be designated DW4.1.0, and is categorized as a Minor release
and not a Patch release. As such, it is required that all customers move to it as a new base
release. With this release, SunGard will provide the SureCode, TreQadmin, and SHPentry user
interface components only in their web-based metaphor and not their PC-based versions,
which are being de-supported in mid-2012.
The remaining two PC-based administrative user interface components, TRANSIT and SCRIBE,
will be replaced with web-based versions in the future. If you have any questions, please
contact Wayne Holt, DegreeWorks Product Owner.
