I'm attaching a Word document with answers to your second set of Scribe
questions.  My answers are in blue.

 

FYI: Again I'm copying this to the on-campus DegreeWorks listserv.

 

Note:

Last week when Laurie Perry was here, we discovered an error that will
impact many scribed blocks: The alpha characters after a course number
in the print catalog should not be used in coding.  These would include
W (for writing intensive courses), L for labs, and G for graduate level.
That should be the extent of alpha characters that appear after course
numbers in the catalog.  If the DegreeWorks requirement is coded with a
W, for instance FAMS 310W, and the student takes FAMS 310, then the
requirement will appear to be unmet and FAMS 310 will "fall through."
Laurie showed us about making a correction within Scribe, but then said
it might be possible to do an across-the-board adjustment to remove all
alpha characters after course numbers.  If that's possible, then great.
If not, we'll work on making that correction when we begin
training/testing in November.  I apologize for not pointing this out in
my earlier authentication files.  It's one of those things that since
almost everyone here on campus understands it, I mistakenly assumed
those outside the school would understand in the same way.

 

Thanks again for all your hard work.  We got to see the results of that
hard work in the sample degree audits we saw last week in technical
training.  We are quite happy to see our program details being
translated into a working degree audit program once again.
