If you are contemplating taking FINC 525 Bulldog Fund as an elective in the Fall 2012 semester an application is required by this Friday, April 6th. The course is a 3-credit business elective. MBA students having successfully completed FINC 514 Foundations of Finance and all MAcc students are eligible to apply.

Admission is by application and possible interview. The application is attached but can also be found on the Bulldog Fund website where more details are provided. Please complete, print and sign the application, staple a copy of your transcript and the requested memo to the application and submit all to Ms. Ivy Alexander (Room 212) by 4:30pm, Friday, April 6, 2012. Successful applicants will be notified by April 13th.

Note the requirement for a memo from you about your investment philosophy. This is an important part of your application. Please compile it with thought and care.

Late or incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Applicants will be reviewed on the basis of grades, work experience, activities, the quality of the memo, and the recommendations of your professors. We do not expect or require a background in investing, although that is a definite plus.

One new requirement: if you are selected, it is expected that you will successfully complete the Bloomberg certification for Equity Analysis before the start of the fall semester. This involves the viewing of five on-line videos (at the Bloomberg terminal) and passing of an on-line test. If you do not complete this requirement by the fall, you will be dropped from the fund.

One other note: if need be, we will start at 5:00pm so that you can attend a second course at 7:45pm. Please note on your application whether that is an important consideration for you.

Feel free to talk to me, Prof. John Venable or any of the current student managers. We'd love to tell you more about the successes of the fund.
