Too abrasive and too hard to rinse away. Plus, it doesn't remove mineral deposits. 

"I've always been afraid to use much more than some mild dish soap, snake, rinse.  Then swabbed with the cleaning rod."

This is the way a trombone slide should be cleaned. You are 100% correct!
Acid baths are for major build-up and shouyld only be done when necessary.


"So what's better, Lime Away or CLR?  I've only seen the latter here in Seattle and I tend not to use chemicals.
