[Trombone-l] Speaking of Sackbuts....

  A couple of months ago I picked up a CD of Samuel Scheidt's "Ludi Musici" 
performed by the ensemble "Les Sacqueboutiers", which I highly recommend to 
all. The name is a little misleading in that the group comprises cornettes 
and trompettes as well as sackbuts but all are authentic early brass 
instruments and the performance is outstanding.

If seventeenth century music played on historical instruments is not your 
bag - get this CD - it will change your mind. If it is your bag - this is a 
must-have album.

The album is released by "ambroisie" but there doesn't appear to be a file 
number. I found it through Amazon.com
