I'm so sorry to read of Randy Purcell's passing. I remember him
passing through Knoxville with Maynard Ferguson's band, and later
meeting him when he lead an All State East clinic. he was on both
occasions a fine gentleman and player. His son is now a heckuva
guitarist --- it was my very good pleasure to hear him and meet him a
couple of years ago.
