Re: Schilke 59 and fitting the receiver - I'm very familiar with this
issue.  The older Schilke mouthpieces had the Remington shank (which fit
older Conns and some euphoniums/baritones).  The Remington shank is easy to
identify, it's about 1/2 inch longer than than usual.  The newer Schilkes -
I believe made in the last 2 years or so - are now are made with the
standard Morse taper, with the longer taper a special order.

I got new inner slide tubes for my 1959 Conn 88H earlier this year, and I
had to convert to newer mouthpieces since the leadpipe is a standard Conn
leadpipe and is different than the old one.

My new bread and butter is a Ferguson 1 Tenor (5G-ish...), nice mouthpiece
available from hornguys.com  It might be on the small side for you monster
mouthpiece guys! =)
