[Trombone-l] Doubling on Bass

Hi Jeff-

Quick note before crashing: You could throw a 1.5G in there to get
started, but if serious, want to move quickly to a real double trigger
horn. The Yamaha Xeno basses are quite impressive, and IMHO one of
the best horns if on a budget- from there, I'd move quickly to the
Getzen (more $), or the gold standard, a Bach 50 (anti-cheap).

I tried the new CL you're talking about (if it's the one at A&G) not
bad- it's an intriguing horn, would need to spend a little more time
with it to be certain, but for me it seems it'd be a great jazz horn,
light classical horn. I don't know if I'd use it in an orchestra
though. (Side note: not a big pig bigot- I play on an 88H CL for my
tenor). After rereading your post- the 62H might be a fine start-
it's very user friendly and centers well.

Best,
	JB
