[Trombone-l] Grandson's List!

My grandson is graduating from high school next week and is a trombone  
player.  He is going to school in the fall as a bio engineering major,  
and plans to keep playing.  My daughter suggested that I give him an  
IPOD for graduation and fill it with music.  I have an extensive  
collection ranging from early music, with some classical, to jazz.  My  
jazz collection crosses the entire spectrum from the earliest Original  
Dixeland Jass Band to the latest Maria Schneider Big Band, I have most  
of the major trombone figures from Kid Ory, and Jack Teagarden to Andy  
Martin, Conrad Herwig and Robin Eubanks.  My question is, if you were  
putting a group of tunes onto an IPOD for a young person who would be  
on your top ten list?  I am kind of thinking about approaching this  
chronologically as my history background leads me that way.  Any  
thoughts?
