[Trombone-l] how do I get that blaring edgy sound?

I'm no expert (on anything at all really - which is why I so rarely post).
I guess Bill is right - a kind of controlled overblowing - but I have an
Olds P16 (so small bore) that's very difficult to get this sound on without
evrything going to pieces. My '64 3B on the other hand, 'sizzles' with very
little effort, especially middle register and above, buttery below... My
feeling is that is a sound the 3B does both well and easily - especially the
older ones.
