That describes me. I'm getting back into the kind of playing that
calls for a large-bore. I went for a gently used T350 because of
price, tweakability if necessary, and mainly sound. The only other
trombone on which I sound noticeably better is a Shires Tru-Bore
547/562. I'd love to have Newell Sheridan set me up with one of those.
For artistic and gadget-lover's reasons, I'd enjoy a trip to Steve
Ferguson's shop or a chance to try this new T396A.
But realistically, I already have a horn that will not hold me back.
For me, lots of practice is the surest, most fun, and (so long as I
don't have to sacrifice day-job hours) least expensive route to better
sound.
