I recently did the premiere of a new work by Roger Kellaway and it called for buzz wow mutes. We checked w/ Roger and he confirmed his intention was the mute that looks like a cup mute but that has 3 silver resonators in it. We called Humes & Burg who told us that they had stopped production several years ago and as of two years ago discontinued it and cancelled all outstanding back orders. We then called every shop you can think of (Hickey's, Dillon's, Brass Wind etc. etc.) and could find no one with any in stock. We came up with one guy that could loan us one but need three so we went without.
