[Trombone-l] Mahler 1 opt. Trombone 4 part.

>There are 2 editions of Mahler 1st that include optional brass at the
end. One uses 2 horns (in F)- the other uses a trumpet and trombone. In
both cases, it's the same music, doubling the 7 french horns at the end
of the Symphony. If you don't want to transpose, and nobody out there has
a copy of the trombone version, I would suggest writing it out as it's a
short part, and very repetitive. It also wouldn't be hard to descretely
(in pencil) write a few note-heads above the notes in f transposition, to
show tenor or alto clef. The part is basically a D major scale over and
over again.

I hope you get to stand up along with the horns at the end - it's not much
to play, but actually kind of fun.

Enjoy!

Jim Scott

The part I received was in F for horn/trombone. There were no parts
