Hi everyone,

Anyone out there going to the Alessi Seminar (August 3-11) this year?
I just heard from my good friend Jon Whitaker that there are actually
a few auditor spots left.

I have participated twice, in 2003 and in 2007. As a professional
trombone player myself, I really enjoy the learning environment that
Joe has created. I'm not sure how it happens this way, but it always
feels like everyone checks their egos at the door, and everyone ends
up learning from one another, as well as from Joe.

Yes, I studied with Joe, and I may be a bit biased, but I am still
amazed that I always come away from these seminars having learned
something new, not to mention being truly inspired and pumped up to
practice. You also won't want to miss Joe's recital. He always pull
out all the stops for this recital!

I plan to be there for the first half of the seminar as an auditor
this year. If you have any questions about it, please feel free to
contact me directly or I'm happy to answer any questions about it in
the forum.

Pete Ellefson, Professor of Trombone and IU and Northwestern
University, said recently that "Joe Alessi is our Tiger Woods….our
Michael Jordan. The opportunity to witness this great player and
teacher personally for a week will change your life. It did mine and I
continue to learn from him each Seminar. Why not experience the best
that trombone has to offer in a beautiful setting such as Albuquerque?
Plus…I have never had a bad meal in Albuquerque." I whole-heartedly
agree with Pete!
