I've watched them go from a group of about 30 players who literally struggled to get through 'Sleigh Ride' to become a 70+ person, competent community orchestra, and I was thrilled when the conductor, Jim Truher, asked me to do a piece with the group this year and even more so when he agreed to let me do the Grondahl, which is one of my favorites, but has a fairly challenging orchestral part. This group is, of course, not on par with the Seattle Symphony (and I'm no Koichiro Yamamoto), but rehearsals have been sounding great and it promises to be a fun show nevertheless. I hope all who are so inclined can come!
