My 1911 edition of V Cornette Intermediate, also lists them as false tones.

 remember from my tuba playing days that on some 
orns there was a usable open tone a fourth above 
he fundamental. Eb tuba comes to mind. One horn 
 played was a Crown Eb sousaphone. I don't want 
o think about the F sidewinder, with a fingering 
hart permanently attached to the bell.
On French horn, at least, notes played other than 
hose which are natural partials are called 
actitious notes.
