I think the musicological record will show definitively that this work
was in fact composed for the Bb/F tenor trombone (and not the bassoon or
cello as is often put forth) on contract by the Aeolean Harp Company by
the little known pre-Vaudeville team of Carl and Maria Weber of Teaneck,
New Jersey, not to be confused by their great uncle, twice removed,
"von" der Vaterland. ;')
