[Trombone-l] Repair Q in re Out of True Leadpipes

Bob,

I discovered years ago that if the leadpipe is bent, it will bend the  
inner slide tube off in the direction of the bend.
This, of course, screws up the alignment of the slide.  If the  
leadpipe is one that just press fits into the slide, it will not even  
face the same direction every time, so it will constantly be  
different.  Usually straightening the leadpipe is what I attempt to do.

If the leadpipe has a threaded ring on it and the threaded part is  
not soldered on straight, same problem.  It's just one thing after  
another isn't it?
