[Trombone-l] Repair Q in re Out of True Leadpipes

Here's a Q for you techs.

I have several leadpipes for each of my horns, including factory stock and
aftermarket.
Without any pattern, some seem to adversely affect the slide function. It's
demonstrable when you remove the suspect pipe and work the slide without it,
as the slide is smoother and quicker. There seems to be a dispute about
whether the pipe is 'true' depending on who you ask--the maker, the pro
player or the local repair guy, etc. This is above MY paygrade!

Have any of you seen and experienced this and if so, what do you do to
address it--confirm it a leadpipe issue or not, fix it?

Thanks!
