I agree with Ray. Also, another great tool for transcription work
like this is called just that: Transcribe!
Google that. Give it a try. You get a free trial, but I found it to
be a great tool and paid the money for the program. You can slow down
the mp3 while maintaining the pitch, there is a keyboard for working
through the notes, and Transcribe! will even give you its best guess
of what the note is your are hearing. It's up to you to put it into
Finale or Sibelius or manuscript (or memorize), and you have to have
pretty good rhythm dictation skills. But it's a terrific aid for a
project such as this!
