Those who don't want HTML (for whatever reason) could log in to the MailMan configuration page and select "Get MIME or Plain Text Digests?" to "Plain Text"..

That way, each individual subscriber has control of their own options.

As a favor to our inline digest members we strip HTML content from posts.

The default composition mode for most email programs is now HTML.
Unfortunately some mail programs do not follow the email standards that require a plaintext version of the message be sent along with the HTML.
Hotmail's web interface comes to mind as one of them.

According to one list member the web interface for Verizon's FIOS does not allow a plain text message to be sent, and it does not send to plaintext version with the HTML either.

In order to avoid the blank posts please set your email program to send plaintext to Trombone-l.

Since I don't have access to all the email programs I won't be able to give much support in setting them to send plaintext messages.
