Hi Billy,
The Robert Spillman Concerto is fun to play. Challenging in spots, but should be playable by any serious college player by junior or senior year.
The John Williams Tuba Concerto has been sanctioned to play on bass trombone. It's really hard, but not unplayable. And very enjoyable.
The Chris Brubeck Concerto is really fun, and mixes up the idioms with jazz, rock and funk influence.
Daniel Schnyder's subZero is a big challenge, but probably the best piece written in the last few years for bass trombone solo.
I got some mileage out of the Ernst Sachse Concerto (concertino?), which exists in versions for both tenor and bass. Good stuff, required piece on some European auditions I think.

Subject: [Trombone-l] Bass Trombone and Orchestra Favorites
Hello, All.
A collegiate bass trombone student asked me about my favorite concertos for bass trombone and orchestra. Since I mostly play tenor trombone, I didn't have very many! :-) Does anyone have any favorites which they would like to recommend and which are available for purchase?
Please feel free to e-mail me directly if you so prefer.
With Thanks in advance,
Bill Huber
