Maybe we missed something. If Mike was already in the security cue or Raye
is an AA employee, then this is NOT an airline issue; they have no control
or authority.

Write a letter detailing the experience to American Airlines customer
service.
I have had problems with airlines in the past, and letters to
customer service have gotten results. I would think that "Raye"
would be sufficient identification for AA to figure out who it was.
Definitely follow up on this. We pay for our tickets, and we deserve
to be treated courteously. If Mike was in fact carrying too many
bags, the correct procedure would have been to politely explain this
to him and tell him what the extra charge (if any) would be.
