[Trombone-l] Plunger Mute question...

That's the Trio [sic] Sonata for two flutes and discontinuo. The
discontinuo consists of a tuba and tambourine.
It calls for the tambourinist to insert and remove a straight mute, but
a garbage can lid would be completely in keeping with the PDQ Bach
atmosphere.
I've done it in rehearsal with my wife the flautist. I was doing the
tuba part on bass, the mute insertion thing just doesn't work worth a
flip on a bass ... a plunger there would make the piece workable.
