Maybe someone will tell me how a tuba player can use a plunger mute?

Dave.

Trust Tom to have four sizes - nice to know some things in life never
change!

Regarding the
Jolly Ball (a toy for horses I think) someone recommended that on list a few
years ago for bass trombone and I
ordered one. (There's a discussion in the 2003 archive. Dan Pliskin
used one at that time.) Didn't know they came in different sizes and
the stores who supplied me sent the biggest - it was a 10"er! I reckon
it would work on a contra or even a tuba!

My first post of 2009, so happy new year to you all!
