How come he doesn't use the "Trumpet" model?
The plunger that non-musicians would call the bathtub size, is only 3" accross.

I personally have all four "sizes", but as a doubler, I need them all.
3" for Trumpet (and Sop Trb).
5+" for small Tenors (never had a call for plunger on Alto LOL)
6" for large Tenors, & the H&B model for Bass Trb. The rubber ones just don't cut it on bells over 9".
