I don't know about original Ellington recordings, Eliezer,  but I do have my
own big band arrangement of Mood Indigo which has some very nice heavily
featured moments for bass 'bone in it.  I also have a version of the same
tune scored for 6 'bones & rhythm which features two bass 'bones.
