Y'know...
I think my fantasy gig would be with George Roberts in a big band. Naturally, I'd like to "work up" to the gig with him, learning the charts and getting advice on how to make that "Mr Bass Trombone" sound .. the dollar notes if you will.
It'd be nice if I were to be paid for it, but I think I'd enjoy simply sitting in and playing with him .. big band with Nelson Riddle charts .. maybe some of the 60's Sinatra sessions...
But learning from Mr Bass Trombone .. WOW! That'd be worth the extra work...

Subject: [Trombone-l] Fantasy dream gig
Hi All,
I was watching some footage on youtube of the Frank Zappa extravaganza in
Barcelona in 1988 and caught myself thinking how awesome that gig would be.
Led me to thinking about other great gigs and has led me to post this
question to the group:
What would be your fantasy dream gig? Any gig, any era.
