Agreed. I'm hoping to go if I'm not worn out after a long rehearsal.
I have many of this group's recordings. They participate in a lot of
performances of medieval and Renaissance choral music. Judging from
their work in Schutz's Psalms of David, they do a lot of their own
scoring, so much so that I barely recognized the Schutz, it was so
different than "standard" performances. Other recordings include
choral works by Cavalli, Biber, Lassus, Christopf Strauss, and
others. These recordings have a far greater brass presence (cornettos
and sackbutts) than most performances of this material--it's
virtually nonstop in that Strauss recording--and one-on-a-part choral
scoring. They lend a very different perspective to all the works they
perform--and they perform very well.
