[Trombone-l] 51 positions pic

This is great as a theoretical stake in the sand. IMO, it doesn't account
for various of bores and instruments, mouthpieces and most importantly,
players!

My old (1965) King 3B plays reasonably true to the chart.

My old (1959) Conn 88H (with springs for sharpening a naturally flat 1st
position partial like the 5th partial) requires me to flatten many of the
notes to play in tune. My 6th partial D (step above middle C) is almost 1"
past the bell. And so forth.

I recently played a nice Martin Committee loaned to me where the G above
middle C was almost all the way into first - maybe 1/4" out.

So the 51 positions are all there...but from instrument/mouthpiece/player,
these can be quite different.

My $.03 worth (mentioned 3 bones!).
