This topic has become off-topic for this list, so let's label it as such.
Bush has not kept us safer. Thanks to him, we went into Iraq which had
nothing to do with the business at hand - defeating terrorism. Iraq cost us
more than 4,000 American lives, almost 100,000 Americans wounded (many of
whom are not getting the care they deserve), nearly a trillion dollars of
direct costs and has become a recruiting cry for many to join the terrorist
movements. Bush's foray in Iraq, caused the real war in Afghanistan to
falter allowing the terrorist movement there to regroup and get stronger.
Thanks to Bush, the US has lost the respect of most of the world's nations
and people. Overall, Bush weakened America.
How can anyone claim that Bush has kept us safer when so many in this
country no longer have access to healthcare or higher education. When Bush
allowed torture and extraordinary rendition, he lowered the moral high
ground on which this nation has stood for many, many years.
Bush is also partly to blame for the current economic crisis.
