As others have written, it was Richie "La Bamba" Rosenberg from the Max
Weinberg 7 on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." Max, as you know, is Bruce's
long-time drummer. Richie and others joined Springsteen for parts of the
Seeger Sessions CD and tour in 2006. I saw them at Madison Square Garden,
and it was one of the best concerts I've ever attended. Bruce had an
18-piece band of world-class musicians, including a big horn section that
included Art Baron doing amazing work on trombone, tuba, and penny
whistle(!). If you haven't heard it, I strongly recommend buying "We Shall
Overcome: The Seeger Sessions (American Land Edition)" on CD and/or "Live in
Dublin" on DVD.
Best,
Sean
