[Trombone-l] Terrible News

Here is a snippet of an e-mail I got from his friend, Shawn Mouser (acting princ. bassoon in LAPO):

Witser was watching the Laker game last night at home when he got  
short of breath and passed out. His wife, Marta, was with him and  
called 911 immediately. They arrived right away but were unable to revive him.
Steve had a history of heart problems in his family. Within the past  year or so he had discovered he had an arrhythmia and was working out what to do about it. He actually had an appt to go in and get a test (angiogram I think) done in a couple of days.
The guy was in great shape. Did yoga, hiked, was real active.

This is very very sad.
