[Trombone-l] Upcoming Brass Concerts at TTU

Just a quick note to let you know about 3 brass concerts we have coming up
at TTU.  All concerts listed are at 7:30 PM and will be in Wattenbarger
Auditorium of the Bryan Fine Arts Building at Tennessee Tech University,
located at 1150 N Dixie Ave, Cookeville, TN 38505

On Sunday, April 19th, the Tennessee Tech Trombone Studio will be performing
a recital of works for trombone and piano.  Works to be performed include
Rare from T-Bone Concerto by De Meij, the 3rd movement of the Schnyder Bass
Trombone Sonata, 76 Trombones by Willson/arr. Amis, Two Fantasy Pieces by
Eduard Lassen, and the 1st 2 movements of the Rimsky-Korsakov Trombone
Concerto.

On Tuesday, April 21, the Brass Arts Quintet, the faculty brass quintet in
residence, will present a concert of works for brass from the baroque all
the way up to world premieres!  Works to be performed include the Sonata
³Saint Mark² by Albinoni; Victor Ewald¹s Quintet #1 performed on all conical
instruments with Flugelhorns, Alto Horn, Euphonium and Tuba; Tony Plog¹s
Four Sketches for brass quintet; Closing In from Escapades for Alto
Saxophone and Orchestra by John Williams featuring TTU Saxophone Professor
Phil Barham; Arutunian¹s Concert Scherzo for Trumpet and brass quintet in a
new arrangement by Charles Decker featuring, who else, Charles Decker on
Trumpet; and the world premieres of Expansions by Chris McCormick and
Intrada by Greg Danner.

Wednesday, April 22 brings Trombones at Tech with a concert of works for
Trombone Choir.  We will be performing Ave Maria by Franz Biebl, Reflections
& Rattledance by John Cheetham, Shenandoah, Stomper for trombones and
drumset featuring guest artist Matt Tidwell, Angel Eyes, Lento by Sparke
arranged by our own Alex Sears, and Songs of Distant Earth by TTU Alumnus
Kenyon Wilson.

These concerts should all be lots of fun and we hope that you'll be able to
join us!
