[Trombone-l] Solo Inspriation

Brian,
I don't have much inspiration for you but I'm interested to hear other
thoughts on this piece. We have the same arrangement (I've got the 1st
bone part). It is arranged by Gary Pattison (not Peterson) who is the
2nd horn with the Canadian Opera Company - he worked with, or went to
school with, our concert band conductor I believe. I believe it is his
brother Ernie who played trombone with Rob McConnell and the Boss Brass,
which would explain the challenging arrangement for trombone.
I'm still working through the rest of the arrangement (stuggling with
those high D's) but it has some great rhythms in it. I'm not great with
improvisation yet, so I'm not too sure what to do with this solo
either. I'd appreciate hearing from you if you happen to work something
out with it.
