I traced the story back to the source. It was only a part of a brass
instrument and not the whole instrument. The article doesn't state if the
instrument will need a slide repair job.

Of course it was a brass instrument - had it been a woodwind she wouldn't

had to hit him with it - playing it would have sufficed.
