[Trombone-l] Checking In

Last year I responded to about half a dozen ads and bought two horns
last year through the Online Trombone Journal classifieds. See
http://www.trombone.org/classifieds/. Both buying experiences were
positive. It's important to communicate a lot with the seller, arrange
an opportunity to check out the horn, and work out exactly what the
terms of sale are. Doing that, it's possible (not guaranteed) to form
accurate impressions of the trombone and the seller. If everything
seems kosher, do the deal. So far as I could tell, the people I
contacted knew what they were talking about and included no con men.
Definitely read the FAQ for the OJT classified and handle the deal
with the same caution as you would a deal made over Craig's List.
