[Trombone-l] Finally!

Funny! I've been using a 6-1/2AL on my '51 2B since I got it (17yrs.)
as it was the easiest compromise from the Schilke 51C4 I use on my
Bach 42. I felt I could switch between the two with the least amount
of shed time to get up to speed.
My 2B came with the M21, too. But to me feels almost like trying to
play a trumpet mouthpiece after playing the bigger cups for so long.
I'm pretty sure if I spent the time on it, the M21 would allow me a
bit more agility and higher range for bop soloing. But I don't play
in that environment enough for me to jump.
The 6-1/2AL on the 2B (or a 3B) was pretty standard for the salsa
circles. 'Cuz it allowed us (or at least me) to blow over all the tin-
can banging without too much spread or blat. Enough that I was
actually seeking out a 4B to see how it felt over the Bach for the
clubbin' I do.
My $0.02, anyway.
Cheers!

My old King Symphony came with a King M21 I play most of the time in

If I have to play a lot of high hard stuff (Chicago, EWF, etc.) I
switch to
a 12c (kelly plastic). Can't say much about the 2B, but I thought the
6 1/2
AL was too big for my 3B, so it doesn't surprize me that you find it
big on
the 2B.
What King mouthpiece have you got?
