[Trombone-l] Wii Music

My wife is KING of "plastic, pretend guitar!"

And I have perfected the art of playing all the Wii games without
getting up, or putting down my beer. Bowling is quite easy if you
turn the controller over and work it like a fishing rod.

...now THAT's "trombonist ingenuity!"

Tuba Hero - now there's a concept, and if you go to Google Images and
search "Tuba hero" you'll find a couple of takes on the game. I
especially like the cartoon with the title "Close to Home."
Now, if I could only get my students to invest 1/8th of the time they
spend playing Guitar Hero practicing their real instruments... OK ~
Gotta go. Steve R. in Prescott

Subject: [Trombone-l] Wii Music

I've been reading that Nintendo is coming out with a Wii Music
program for
Christmas time. Contrary to "guitar hero" and the ilk, it claims that
player
can choose from 50 different instruments, can put together individual
performances with their friend to make a video, even conduct a virtual
orchestra.

I think this sounds like a lot of fun. The virtual drum set
notwithstanding,
if there was ever an instrument that is suited to a motion-based game
controller, it's the trombone.
