[Trombone-l] Lawrence Welk's trombones

All I remember from the Welk show [this was after I achieved a certain
sophistication on bass trombone {huh?}] was that the section [including bass
trombone] used this incredible [overdone] slide vibrato [which seemed to me
to be ordained by Welk himself]... That was the last time [1970-something]
that I even bothered to watch the Welk show... did I miss anything?
My personal favorite was Larry Hooper with his enormous basso voice!
