You seem to have rediscovered and extended the range of the "Bazooka", An 
instrument made from 2 pieces of pipe and a whiskey funnel, invented and 
played by Bob Burns - a Vaudeville and radio comedian in the 30's and 40's.

Burns' Bazooka was in the range of a tenor trombone - unfortunately the link 
within the above link to a duet of Burns and Tommy Dorsey playing "Sweet 
Sue" doesn't appear to work any more, but the text gives some info on the 
origin of the instrument as well as a transcription of the dialog between 
Burns and TD
