[Trombone-l] Always good to check out the horn a head of time

There've been several times when I've taken a 9 foot length of hose with a good old kitchen funnel attached to one end and a Bach 1 1/2G on the other end. You can REALLY sharpen your chops on a long road trip that way. It doesn't make a lot of sound, but you can work on lip trills and basic wind management.

I suppose that I've collected one or two odd looks from the local constable, but never anything that I regretted.

I know one guy that has a length of hose coiled up under the front seat of his car, he 'practices' on nearly any long haul.

Naturally, your mileage may vary

Yes, can't see the sense in buying expensive instruments. Use a hose, Jose.
