While I'm very glad great trombones are not $2 or $3 million dollars, 
sometimes they are good investment.  I sold a horn last year that I had 
for 25 years (played it the entire 25 years), and I calculate that I 
made 2.86% per year (simple, non-compounding) interest on the 
investment.

To bad that $300 or $400 profit over 25 years won't cut it in the big 
investment picture.
