This is real nice. And nicely recorded.
The background is from the Jamey Aebersold volume with Strings. This is one
of the better ones on this album. Several of the arrangements don't work
this well. The album is still worth the buying, since it is adorned with
the string section.

Mine is not as good audio, that is for sure. I just set the video cam and
went.

The "guy from the WDR Big Band in Cologne playing jazz cimbasso" is Mattis
Cedeberg, one of Europe's most prominent bass trombonist.
He participated in the original Brecker Brothers' recording of "Some Skunk
Funk" (2003). He also played with Joe Zavinul, McCoy Turner,
Slide Hampton, John Faddis, Maria Schneider and Lee Konitz.. He has also
released 2 CDs in electro-psychedelic jazz with
"Sonic Metachronic Arkestra" - a seven-piece band: "Metachronicon" and
"Overunity".
The Cimbasso recording is a ballad version of "I Cover the Waterfront"
played very much in George Roberts' style, very expressive with
very rich and singing style.
The info is included in my forthcoming book "The Non-Classic bass trombone",
containing studies in jazz & jazz related style, text describing the
development of the bass trombone in these styles, and two playback/solodemo
CD's played by Micha Davis, bass trombonist of Israel
Philharmonic.
