[Trombone-l] J.J.'s "Lament"

List seems to be working now, so I'll try this again.  I'm performing Lament
with a jazz trio as part of a community concert band series in a few weeks,
and need some program notes. All I can find is a possible date of 1954.
Anyone know if there's a story behind this song? Was he lamenting someone or
something specific?
