[Trombone-l] Bass Trumpets

I thought figs where the new prunes (?)
Some questions about bass trumpet: I suspect the answer to both may be
"It's a matter of individual preference." But what do I know?
1. Players: Since bass trumpet is likely (or certainly) a double, do
preferences for instruments correlate with people's principal axes?
That is, do trombonists prefer different brands or bores or valve
types than euphonists (or tubists)?
2. Conductors: Do conductors agree much, or at all, about what bass
trumpet is supposed to sound like? Or do they leave it up to the brass
section to figure out? Has anybody ever heard a conductor say "More
bass trumpet"?
