[Trombone-l] Trombone needs in Thailand...

Howdy!

I have been advised by colleagues to throw myself [no, not on my sword!
Besides, I don't have one!] on the mercy of my fellow listers. There is an
ongoing need here in Thailand for certain bits of trombone-related equipment
and literature.

While sending complete trombones would be wonderful, that is a bit too much
to ask. What I am looking and hoping for are any and all of the following:

Mutes, particularly cup, harmon and practice mutes;
Mouthpieces, small and large shank;
Metronomes, tuners, all-in-one devices;
Repertoire for solo trombone, in decent or better condition;
Anything I haven't thought of that is relevant to trombonists.

I will act as local agent for the distribution of these items as they
arrive. Most of what we need [other than mutes] is already available to
Mahidol students, but many players at other universities and other schools,
particularly out in the more remote regions of the country, are hungry for
repertoire and in need of the basic equipment - I had a student who was out
a part of last academic year due to a totally beat up, torn up mouthpiece
that was messing up his lip! That was easy - he had another one and I made
him change... but there are players who are without that option. One student
with a very old and worn out small bore tenor is using my Conn 88H, but that
is only one student.

Any contributions are greatly appreciated: I buy music and accessories as I
can, but my salary only goes so far. If you have complete instruments you
would like to sell, let me know about that as well: a new Jupiter
professional model [US$2000 in the States] costs over $5000 here due to
shipment costs and customs expenses.

Thanks for reading this far - I look forward to hearing from you!
