If I might add my two cents here. I haven't played this particular
chart by Eric Richards, but we have played a good number of his works
over the last several years, and not a one has let us down. We have
used them in local concerts, jazz festivals, and big promotion type
events. Always well crafted and the excitement is there when it's
called for... beauty when it's not.
We opened the Texas Jazz Festival last year with Eric's "Crescent
City Stomp", and it brought the house down!
Besides UNC Jazz Press, Eric's music is also available from Alfred
Publishers, C. L. Barnhouse, and directly from the composer. Besides
writing for the U.S. Army Field Band, the Jazz Ambassadors, Eric has
also written for the Boston Pops, the Airmen of Note, the Army Blues,
the Navy Commodores, and the Dallas Wind Symphony, to name but a
few. Moreover, he's a mighty fine trombonist on top of his writing
skills.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, gang!
