[Trombone-l] Information Needed

Hi Mike,

Premru's "In Memoriam" was written for Ray's best friend, Roger Minor (sp?),
a colleague at the Eastman School. He was killed in a car crash during a
school break. I have never heard of a motorcycle being involved, but that
may be an error of omission on my part.

  Subject: [Trombone-l] Information Needed

  Dear Group:

Could anyone give me any background on the trombone quartet "In Memoriam"
by Ray Premru? I'd be very interested if it was written with any particular
person in mind.

Also, I have heard it said that the composer Serocki had been a
professional boxer at one time in his life. Can anyone confirm that this is
true or if totally off base?

  Many thanks in advance.

  Mike
