Well, I can't answer for everyone, but I use a Doug
Elliott system. An equiv to my Bass rim (1 1/4) with
an 11Cish cup.

Well..........Being primarily a Bass Trombonist, my
range is greater on Bass, both low, obviously, & high.
Just the tone is different on Alto.
